About

Elizabeth Ng

Elizabeth believes regular moderate physical activity is crucial to maintaining physical and mental health. As we all age, our bodies do not heal as fast, and regular exercise can help minimize injuries and speed recovery of tissues.

Maintaining adequate strength and flexibility is crucial to minimize the impacts of daily life on our joints and tissues.

Our ability to heal and recover also depends on our abilities to listen to our bodies! Chronic pain and discomfort often results from us not listening to what our bodies are saying.

We often ignore, downplay, or medicate our bodies to keep doing what we need or want to do in life, which often results in pain and injury. Elizabeth believes in finding that balance of exercise and rest to optimize the body’s healing potential. She often encourages and incorporates physical activity as part of her physiotherapy services and treatment sessions, and encourages rest as part of her care plan.

Elizabeth has been working as a Registered Physiotherapist since 2008 and has experience in treating a variety of clients ranging from those suffering from workplace injuries to those experiencing postpartum aches and pains. She graduated from UBC with her Masters of Physical Therapy, and a Bachelor degree in Human Kinetics specializing in Exercise Science. Prior to being a Physical Therapist, she has worked as a Personal Trainer and a Weight Room Trainer.

In the clinic, her treatments often involve multiple modalities. Depending on your body’s response, one session may include methods such as electrical therapy, ultrasound, acupuncture/IMS, manual therapy, and exercise prescription among other methods. She particularly enjoys working with recreational runners, being a runner herself since she was in elementary school.

She has been a trusted Physiotherapy provider for employees at Best Buy (previously Burnaby headquarters), WorkSafeBC(Richmond), and Fortinet (Burnaby).

In her free time, she loves to laugh and have fun! She enjoys spending time in nature, playing with her two young boys, and trying out new baking recipes. Running and gym exercises are the main ways she stays healthy throughout the year. She also enjoys long hikes (especially ones that end up on a high mountain!), biking, yoga, recreational volleyball, and badminton. She can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English (or Singlish if she feels like going back to her Singaporean roots!).
